Ed Mann

Ed Mann is best known for his mallet percussion performances onstage with Frank Zappa's ensemble from 1977 to 1988. Ed has performed on over 30 of Zappa's albums, both studio recordings and with Zappa's band live. Mann also has released a number of CDs as a bandleader and composer. E-mu's sound sets have been at the core of most of my live and studio productions for more than 20 years. These timeless sounds define decades of electronic music making, and open the door to acoustic realms not normally associated with synthesizers. Planet Earth, a collection unusual instruments from around the world, always has something to offer and lends an international and indigenous feel to any style of music, I use it constantly. Michael Lloyd

Referred to as a boy genius at the start of his career Michael Lloyd has certainly proven that right. Over the past 40 (plus) years the prolific and talented record producer has accumulated in excess of 100 gold and platinum records well over 72 albums and 34 singles collecting numerous #1 singles and albums. Lloyd's records, ranging from Pop & Rock to Country & Jazz, R&B & Gospel, have been recognized by such organizations as the Grammys, the American Music Awards, the Academy Awards, the Dove Awards (the Christian Music equivalent of the Grammy), the National Association of Record Merchants and The Golden Globe Awards. He is featured in Who's Who in America, in California and in Entertainment. His various chart records span five decades, from the 60's to the present.

Digital Sound Factory has translated (and continues to translate!) all the wonderful sounds and samples from the classic Emulator disks and players. They load and play in all the typical sample synths. I’ve been using them – and loving them. The Digital Sound Factory patches are a great addition to my VST instrument library. I heartily recommend them. There was magic in those classic sounds and Digital Sound Factory is giving us the magic again. Many thanks to Tim and his staff for continuing to help me. - Michael Lloyd - Over 100 Gold and Platinum Awards - LA, California

Kendall Johnson

Kendall Johnson was born into a musically adept family. Teaching himself to play the guitar at age twelve, and helping to form the Indie Rock band, Submission, enabled Kendall to fulfill some of his foreseen musical forte, but it didn't quite satisfy his hunger. In April of 2007, after being in a band for over 10 years, Kendall began studying at Vancouver Film School—specializing in Sound Design for Visual Media. Soon after completing the program, Kendall was introduced to television and film composer, Shawn Patterson (Robot Chicken, The Lego Movie). Kendall began editing music for Shawn, who was composing for Nickelodeon, and has since remarked that his experience working for the Los Angeles based composer was “phenomenal and very educational.” Over the past few years Kendall has completed the scores for many short and feature films, TV episodes, commercials and video games including scoring the 2014 Cannes Festival Short Film "La Edad Del Sol. Kendall classifies his style as “Atmospheric Orchestral,” and has attributed his influences to John Powell, Jeremy Soule, Martin O'Donnell, and Mark Tremonti. Kendall uses Digital Sound Factory sounds and have composed and performed many of the demos at our site.
